ST. PAULS TRAIL - TREKKING WITH ALL SENSES
ST. PAULS WAY - TREKKING WITH ALL SENSES
Did the Apostle Paul take this exact path on his mission from Perge to Antioch in Pisidia? We may never know. What we do know, however, is that he must have marveled at the picturesque landscape: rugged mountain ranges, deep gorges, and quaint villages.
Winding through fragrant pine and cedar forests, these historic trails have withstood the test of millennia. Friendly locals invite us into their gardens for tea, and we savor freshly baked flatbread while gazing at blooming orchards; beyond, the snow-capped peaks of the Taurus Mountains rise majestically.
Here, you'll find Turkey in its solitary nature, far off the beaten hiking paths.
TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Flight to Antalya
Arrival and transfer to the hotel (1 overnight stay).
Day 2: The Bozburun Massif
From Antalya, we drive to Demirciler and find ourselves amidst Taurus villages, untouched cedar landscapes, and steep mountains. We lace up our hiking boots: an old path winds its way up to the shoulder of the Bozburun Massif. The descent first leads to the abandoned Kapakli pasture, then via Roman roads to the aqueduct of Selge and down into the ancient Pisidian city of Selge. After visiting the ruins, we drive to our guesthouse in the Köprücay Valley (2 overnight stays).
Day 3: Ancient City of Selge
On old Roman roads and past bizarre rock formations, the path climbs from the river in the Köprülü Canyon up to the ruins of Selge, accompanied by views into the wild, romantic gorge up to 100 meters deep. Afterward, a 20-minute bus ride takes us back down to the guesthouse.
Day 4: Roman Roads, Quaint Villages
Along the steep slopes, at the eastern foot of the Bozburun, the historic path winds through quaint farming villages and ends in Çaltepe, where our next accommodation is located. We are warmly welcomed by a family (3 overnight stays).
Day 5: In the Köprülü National Park
Near Beskonak, we first visit the old Roman bridge from the 2nd century AD over the Köprücay River. Here begins our hike through small settlements, past deep gorges to the Köprülü Canyon. Our path ends directly in Çaltepe at the guesthouse.
Day 6: Canyons, Hiking, and Swimming
From Çaltepe, we hike along the mountain and river with great panoramas to the village of Degirmenözü. Towards the end of the tour, we have the opportunity to swim in the clear water of the Köprücay. Along the way, we enjoy a picnic on the bank with a view of Roman rock tombs. The hike ends at another crystal-clear spring of the river.
Day 7: Rocky Paths
Today we drive north to the village of Kesme. One of the most beautiful stages of the Paul's Way awaits us. Steep canyons, imposing rock walls, and old Roman paths accompany us to the village of Kasimlar, our location in a family guesthouse (1 overnight stay).

Day 8: Alpine Paths, Pastures, and Ruins
Another royal stage, this time high into the alpine regions of the Taurus Mountains. The route leads over old mountain farmer paths to the Tota pasture. From here we drive to Adada and visit the ancient Roman city. Unfinished structures of the small theater, the market, and well-preserved temples were buried and thus spared from earthquakes. Our destination for the day is Egirdir on the eponymous lake, known for its fjord-like bays (3 overnight stays).
Day 9: Boot-Free
Day Today offers a bike tour, a boat trip, or a visit to the Hamam of Egirdir (optional).
Day 10: In Kovada National Park
A scenic and varied hike begins in the village of Sipahiler, climbs over several hills, traverses large plateaus, and takes us down an old trade path into the Kovada Valley to the village of Serpil.
Day 11: So Close to Heaven
An open landscape of meadows and pastures offers a wonderful panorama during the ascent of Mount Sivri, where we reach an altitude of 1,750 meters. Here we enjoy a break with flatbread and cheese, taking in the colossal view of Lake Egirdir far below. Afterward, we drive about 2.5 hours to our hotel in Antalya for the last overnight stay.
Day 12: Farewell
Transfer to the airport and return flight.
