Erwandern Sie die Westküste Lykiens! Zu Beginn erwartet Sie mit Patara einer der schönsten Strände der Türkei. Der 12 km lange Sandstrand ist, als Schutzgebiet für Meeresschildkröten und seltene Vögel, unverbaut und naturbelassen. Ihre Wanderungen führen Sie auf hoch über dem Meer verlaufenden Pfaden, die Ihnen traumhafte Ausblicke auf die Küste und die bis zu 3.000 m hohen Gipfel des Taurusgebirges bieten. Dramatisch zeigt sich die Steilküste bei Alınca, im Hinterland finden sich typische Kulturlandschaften. Pinienwälder, Olivenhaine und mediterrane Macchia säumen die Wege. Sie wandern über antike Aquädukte und kommen mit den Ruinen von Patara und Xanthos zu bedeutenden Zeugnissen der Lykier.

CARIAN TRAIL - BAYS OF APHRODITE
SELF - GUIDED CARIAN TRAIL - BAYS OF APHRODITE
In the far southwest of Turkey, the Carian Trail leads you through a captivating coastal landscape made up of numerous small and large peninsulas, bays, and islands. Slopes covered in dense green forests and gleaming white cliffs rise above the sea. Along this long-distance hiking route, you’ll experience a constant interplay between land and sea, with mountains ranging from 300 to 1,000 meters and bays inviting you to take a swim. Time and again, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Aegean. Caria, named after the ancient Carian people, is also rich in archaeological heritage. Visit the ancient settlements of Hydas, Amos, and Loryma.
TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival
Transfer from Dalaman Airport (approx. 2.5 hrs) to Bozburun on the peninsula of the same name. 4 overnight stays at a hotel in Bozburun.
Day 2: From the Taslica viewpoint to Bozburun
After a short transfer to a viewpoint above the village of Sögüt, you hike down to the fishing village of Sögüt, then follow the coastline to the Cumhuriyet district. From there, the trail leads over a pass to the Bozburun shipyard. The hike ends at your hotel in Bozburun.
12 km, ascent: 400 m, descent: 550 m, walking time: 5 hrs
Day 3: Hike from Selimiye to Bozburun
Short transfer to Selimiye. Upon arrival, you can enjoy a swim or a coffee at one of the many cafés in the village. The hike begins at the coast of Selimiye and leads in a wide arc over a hill to Bozburun, always accompanied by stunning views of the deep blue Aegean.
12 km, ascent: 300 m, descent: 300 m, walking time: 3.5 hrs
Day 4: From the ancient city of Phoinix to Taslica
The hike begins at the ruins of an ancient Carian city. It’s worth taking a look at the hilltop site and admiring the Carian stonework. You then reach two viewpoints offering spectacular views of the sea and small islands—on clear days, you can even spot Rhodes and Symi in the distance. The hike ends in the village of Taslica.
10 km, ascent: 500 m, descent: 400 m, walking time: 5 hrs
Day 5: Coastal Panorama Trail
Transfer to the farming hamlet of Bahceli. The trail climbs through a terraced high valley to a saddle with breathtaking sea views. A panoramic path then leads you high above the coast with sweeping vistas of the deep blue Aegean. After reaching the coastal village of Selimiye, a transfer takes you to Akyaka. 3 overnight stays in Akyaka.
11 km, ascent: 450 m, descent: 600 m, walking time: 4 hrs
Day 6: Bay of Gökova
From Akyaka, the hike leads mostly through expansive old forests along the coastal slopes. You’ll enjoy beautiful views of the Bay of Gökova throughout. From a seaside restaurant, a transfer takes you back to Akyaka.
16 km, ascent: 450 m, descent: 450 m, walking time: 4.5 hrs
Day 7: Villages of Mugla
To round off your journey, a scenic hike awaits through the forests and villages of Mugla. After a transfer from the hotel to the village of Yenice, you’ll walk through dense Styrax groves and pine forest to a stunning viewpoint overlooking the Bay of Gökova. A winding path then leads you down to Akyaka.

Day 8: Departure
Transfer to the airport (approx. 1 hr) and return journey.

Moderate hikes, mostly following the Carian Trail. The routes are primarily hiking paths and trails, occasionally farm tracks and quiet country roads. Some sections feature rocky and rugged terrain. Cumulative elevation gain: 360–710 m; descents: 350–1,100 m.
