THE LYCIAN WAY IN THE EAST SELF-GUIDED
THE LYCIAN WAY IN THE EAST SELF-GUIDED
The first hikes will lead you along paths high above the sea, offering you breathtaking views of the coast and the up to 3,000 m high peaks of the Taurus Mountains. The dramatic cliffs at Alınca show themselves at their best, while typical cultural landscapes can be found in the hinterland. Pine forests, olive groves, and Mediterranean maquis line the paths.
You will hike over ancient aqueducts and discover significant testimonies of the Lycians at the ruins of Patara and Xanthos. At the end, Patara awaits you with one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey. The 12 km long sandy beach is undeveloped and natural, as it is a protected area for sea turtles and rare birds.
